3. Configure your Email: Set up all your email accounts on the
new server with the same user names and passwords so that once you update
your domain name the emails will switch over smoothly.
4. Update Your DNS: Once you have everything set up on the new
server as above login to your domain name and update the DNS to that of
the new host. From that point on the process is completely automated and
over the next 24-72 hrs your visitors will be re-directed to the new site.
Whenever possible it is recommended you leave the old site up for a week
or two on the old server for the few visitors who may still be sent to the
old site as the global update can take more than 72 hrs in limited cases.
